This Privacy Policy explains how INVENT LLC (“Fisco Books,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the Fisco Books subscription software service and website (the “Service”). Fisco Books is a business-to-business product. For the account, billing, and website information described below we act as a controller. For the business and personal information a customer puts into the Service to run its operations (“Customer Data”), we act as a processor on that customer's behalf and under its instructions; that customer is the controller and its own privacy notice governs how it uses the data.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use Customer Data to train generative AI models. Prompts you send to the AI assistant are processed by Anthropic to generate a response and are not used by Anthropic to train its models.
Where a customer enables text messaging, Fisco Books sends operational messages — such as shift-handoff notes and manager broadcasts — to that customer's staff who have consented to receive them, using Twilio for delivery. The customer is responsible for collecting and recording each recipient's prior express consent.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the SMS delivery provider (Twilio) as needed to send the messages, or as required by law.
We share information with service providers (subprocessors) that process data on our behalf under contract, only as needed to run the Service:
| Provider | Purpose | Region |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Application hosting and content delivery | USA |
| Neon | Managed PostgreSQL database (primary data store) | USA |
| Stripe | Subscription billing and payment processing | USA |
| Plaid | Secure bank-account connections and transaction data | USA |
| Twilio | SMS / text-message delivery | USA |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | USA |
| Anthropic | AI assistant features (model inference) | USA |
We also share information when required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, and security of Fisco Books, our customers, or the public, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (with notice to affected customers). An up-to-date subprocessor list is available on request at support@fiscobooks.com; we will give advance notice of new subprocessors where required by contract.
We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes afterward. Customer Data is retained while your subscription is active; after termination we make it available for export for 30 days and then delete or de-identify it in the ordinary course, subject to backups that expire on a rolling basis and any retention the law requires.
We use encryption in transit, hashed credentials, access controls, network isolation between customers, and audit logging, and we work with vendors that maintain recognized security practices. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for promptly notifying us of any suspected compromise.
The Service and its providers are located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to appeal a decision. U.S. state-privacy note: we do not “sell” personal information or “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California and similar laws.
If your information is part of Customer Data (for example, you are an employee of a business that uses Fisco Books), please direct requests to that business, which controls the data; we will assist it as its processor. For account, billing, or website data that we control, contact us at support@fiscobooks.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes we will give notice by email or in-app before the change takes effect, and we will update the “last updated” date above.
